Privacy Policy

Most privacy policies are long because the site behind them collects a lot. This one is short for the opposite reason. Kavolunex is a handful of static pages about puzzle games, with no account system, no form, no basket and no comment section, so there is very little to describe.
The site is operated from Alberta and follows the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) where it applies, and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Alberta’s PIPA requires an organisation to designate someone accountable for personal information. Here that is Michael Brown, at the address above, who is also the entire organisation.
2. The two things that exist
Web server logs
The hosting provider records each request: source IP address, browser user-agent string, path requested, timestamp and response code. This is standard server behaviour rather than a collection decision. The entries are looked at when the site breaks or when automated traffic becomes a nuisance, and are not combined with anything else or used to build any kind of profile.
Email you send
Messages to the address above arrive with whatever the sender included — usually a name, a return address and a question. The site does not obtain that information; you provide it by writing.
To be unambiguous: there is no form anywhere on this domain. No contact form, no sign-up, no survey, no upload, no chat. Reading a page here transmits nothing about you beyond the request itself.
An order for the handbook
One paid item is offered, a PDF ordered by email. An order adds nothing an ordinary message would not: the address it came from, any name signed to it, and afterwards the reference a bank attaches to an Interac e-Transfer. No card number, expiry date or security code reaches this site or its owner — a transfer passes between your bank and his, and there is no payment page here for one to be entered into.
3. Purposes
Information is used to keep the site working, to answer email, and to meet a legal obligation if one is imposed. Nothing else. It is not sold, rented, traded, or passed to advertisers, data brokers or analytics companies.
Where an order has been placed, the same correspondence carries the transfer details, the confirmation that payment arrived, and the file itself.
Under CASL, this site sends no commercial electronic messages. There is no mailing list to join and no promotional email will ever arrive from this address; a reply to a message you sent is not a commercial message.
4. Cookies
A single first-party cookie remembers your answer to the cookie banner. It contains that answer and nothing more. No analytics package, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no remarketing tag and no third-party script appears anywhere on this domain. 5. Beyond this domain
Pages here discuss applications distributed by other companies, mainly through the Google Play Store. Those platforms run under their own privacy policies, and this one has no reach into them. Once you follow a link off kavolunex.com, what happens to your information is decided by whoever operates the destination. Read their terms before installing anything or entering personal details.
6. Safeguards, location and retention
The site is served over HTTPS and access to the hosting account is restricted to the person named in section 1. Hosting and email may be operated outside Alberta and outside Canada; where that is so, the provider is bound by contract to protections comparable to those required here, and the information involved is limited to logs and correspondence.
Server logs are rotated by the host within a few weeks. Email is retained for up to twenty-four months so that a follow-up makes sense in context, and then deleted. Ask for earlier deletion and it happens.
Order correspondence keeps the same twenty-four month window, held a little more deliberately so that a buyer who loses the file months later can ask again and be recognised. It is deleted earlier on request.
7. Your rights
Under PIPEDA and Alberta PIPA you may request access to any personal information held about you, ask for it to be corrected, withdraw a consent you gave, and ask for correspondence to be deleted.
Write to [email protected] setting out what you want. A first reply normally arrives within a couple of business days, and the request is completed within thirty days.
If the outcome does not satisfy you, a complaint can go to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Neither route depends on our cooperation.
